With ArcGIS, imagery gets processed and served in minutes, not days.
This started out as a very complicated article about remote sensing and imagery. I knew that it would be difficult to get good images to exemplify everything the article needed to address, so the writer and I set out to make this an illustration-heavy article. After three rounds of editing, the story ended up with a step-by-step flow, so in the print edition, we broke it up into columns that seeped from one to the next. The graphic designer we worked with filled in each column with detailed illustrations. The two-page spread looked great in print, but I was again faced with the challenge of making my text-heavy, image-light website display this piece in an engaging way. So I used an Esri Story Maps app to build my own web page that I linked to directly from the publication’s homepage.
